Day 1:

The camp started in the evening at around 5pm, so yup, not many activities! Ice breakers > Dinner > Water games. But the games were pretty fun hehehe. :) Oh and we were split into two groups. My group (Me, Zihow, Jack, David, Gordon, Sean, Nabilah, Xinying, Ishu, Doreen, Sihui, Gracia, Jiamin K, Jiamin P) is called Club Penguin! Cute right!

Day 2:

All the girls in the room were awaken by Nabilah’s annoyingly loud NYAN CAT alarm!!! Everyone woke up EXCEPT FOR NABILAH HERSELF hahahhaha damn joke. This girl is damn cute and funny luh! Hahahaa. Anyway, started the day with physical training! Omg. We did like 60 push ups, 60 sit ups, 60  jumping jacks, 20 buddha palm, and ran one round around the whole Ngee Ann. We sprinted up the freaking slope! Yes that damn bloody steep slope at the Business block. I was like dying while running up the slope. But thank you Tingwei, Ray, and Cleon for encouraging me to keep going! Cleon was literally pushing me! Hehe thank you all. :) Had breakfast at Munch after that! Toast bread with kaya & butter + Half-boiled eggs + Hot milo^^ :D Proceeded with games! We had different activities which made used of the three styles of leadership (authoritative, participative, delegative). And then there was the tic tac toe game which was in the format of Amazing Race! Had to conquer as many stations as possible and Club Penguin won overall! Whoop whoop! :) And then we had survival cooking for dinner! Fun! And shiok! The “hotdog omelette” we cooked was awesomezzzzzzz. Haha it was supposed to be something like omelette but because of the small fire and the shape of the pan, it became “scrambled eggs with hotdog” in the end. Hahaha but it was still damn nice! :D And we had tofu! We didn’t cook it, we just ate it cold with soya sauce. Gracia & Sihui’s creation hahahaha. And it was surprisingly nice!!! It tasted like the Japanese style kinda tofu hahaha. After dinner, the stressful part of the camp was here – Song signing. :/ We had to learn a song within 2 days = Memorize the lyrics + learn how to sign the song. It was a very challenging task for me since my signing sucks. :( Anyway, my group chose Back To December by Taylor Swift for our song signing! Couldn’t really sleep in peace coz I was worrying about the song signing! :/ Some parts of the song are really fast and I find it really hard to catch up. Xinying and Nabilah were facing the same problem as I did so we decided to wake up earlier at 7am the next morning to practise together.

Day 3:

At 7am, I woke Xinying up almost instantaneously haha. I merely tapped her a few times and she woke up already! Unlike Nabilah hahahahah! I went from tapping to SHAKING but she still didn’t wake up. *facepalm* Damn heavy sleeper sia hahahahaa! Haha so in the end it was just me and Xinying for our extra practice hahaa. Glad that the extra practice helped!!!^^ After that, went to pack bag > went down for breakfast with the rest of the campers. Breakfast was bread with nutella! Yayyyyy. :D After breakfast, we had rehearsals for our song signing. I could sign the fast parts of the song already! Like finally. And then…….. Off we go for our performance! Damn sad that I still forgot the lyrics for my solo part during the actual performance coz I was damn nervous. I could remember the lyrics and signings during rehearsals eh! Sighhhhh. Sorry Club Penguin! :( But anyway, thank you everyone for being patient with me for my bad signing! :( After the performances, and also to mark the end of the camp, we were given a token of appreciation! It’s damn pretttttyyyyy!^^

It’s an envelope/card thingy with our group photo + messages inside! The messages are from our friends in the camp.

Throughout the 3D2N camp, we had this Sunshine&Sunflower (= Angel&Mortal) thingy whereby you will write messages to your Sunflower (=Mortal), but at the same time, your Sunshine (=Angel) will also write messages to you! You can also write messages to your other friends in the camp and pass it to the camp committee, and they will help you put the messages into your friend’s envelope!

And everyone only receive the envelope on the last day of the camp. :) And and and, all the envelopes have TOTALLY DIFFERENT designs! There were about 40 people (campers + camp committee) in the camp so there were 40 different designs! And guess what, all 40 designs are drawn by just ONE PERSON, Mingrui!!! I know this because she is Miaoling’s FYP groupmate and Miaoling told me Mingrui took many weeks drawing all the envelopes! Omg. Thank you so much Mingrui! All of us really appreciated the envelopes. Everyone was like :D :’) :O upon receiving them! :) And we marked the end of the camp by taking pictures and eating! Haha. The camp committee ordered nuggets from Macs and egg tarts & popcorn chicken from KFC!!! With a lot other food like chips, jellies, soft drinks, etc etc.

So yep, though the camp was stressful at times due to the song signing, I’d still say that it was a fruitful camp!^^ Fun + Meaningful + Broadened my social circle in HI Club + Learnt new signings + Learnt more about leadership. :) And I am also thankful to have met really really nice people in the camp who helped and encouraged me in one way or another^^

Post-camp:

Reached home at about 5plus pm. Bathed and I fell asleep the moment I lie on my bed. Slept for only 4 hours (day 1) and 3.5 hours (day 2) in the camp. :/ But I still woke up at around 7pm and went for family dinner!^^ I was in zombie mode and I continued to sleep in the car haha. :P We went to this Thai restaurant (Jane Thai Food) in Orchard Towers. Damn good food! Loved the tom yam soup and stir-fried tang hoon. :)

Came home and sleeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppp! zZZZZzzzz.

The consecutive day after camp:

The next day (19 Dec), went to school at 12pm to meet my Christmas group to rehearse for our Christmas performance later that night. Our song was Mistletoe by Justin Bieber! Anyway, halfway through the rehearsal at the dance studio, Elvin (our advisor for the Christmas performance) suddenly told us that he has a story to share with us. So all of us sat down and listened to his story. He was sharing with us his life story! People usually see him as very ‘dao’, very fierce, very anti-social. But if you have heard his story, you’d know the reasons behind all these. :’) And I really had the “I feel you” feeling when he talked about family. Because to me, family plays a huge part in my life too. :’) Thanks for sharing your story with us and allowing us to know you better, Elvin! 12 pairs of ears are always here to listen to your stories k! :) Jiayou and continue to open up! :)

Met up with the other Christmas group and we took bus to town together! :)

Went to Scape first for Lin Er’s birthday surprise > Dinner at Cine food court > Ngee Ann City to prepare for performance!!!

Our performance was delayed! :/ We reached Ngee Ann City at 7plus but we only performed at 9plus! Haha but the waiting time wasn’t boring at all! We kept taking pictures and we were also CLUBBING to whatever music played by other performers HAHAHHAA.

Look at all the shaky arms and faces hahahahaa we were dancing like siao! Freaking fun and funny I swear hahhahaa. And everyone should totally do this before a performance man!!! Because when it was our turn to perform, I wasn’t nervous at all! Probably because I was all “warmed up” from the clubbing already hahahaha. The link below is the video of our performance! :D

It was a really awesome day and I enjoyed myself ttm. :D

Preparation for this performance was really quite tough. We stayed till 10plus pm several days in a week to cut lyrics, standardize signings, practise expressions, practise formation, etc etc. Had to juggle all these with the dreaded ASSIGNMENTS that we already have. :/

PLUS, the performance was held immediately the day after leadership camp, so it was really tiring. :/ But all was worth it as the performance turned out to be a great success! :D This Christmas performance was my first ever HI Club external event and it was, indeed, a very good experience. :)

I thought I would post at least once in November so as to have “November 2011″ under the archives. Sigh. Can’t believe I didn’t post in November! :O So yup.. Being an OCD girl, I can’t stand missing a month under my archives. So I had to fake the post of this blog. Today is 4/12/2011 by the way haha.

So November was busy.. Far too busy. :( What was I busy with? All these shit:

I’VE CONQUERED EVERYTHING HELL YEAH!

No assignments to hand in this week! Woohoo!!! Keywords: “this week”. Have two more assignments to hand in the following week. Sigh. :( Assignments are never-ending, seriously. :( And for this sem, I’ve been submitting my assignments closer and closer to the deadlines. E.g. Proposal due at 2359, I submitted at 2354 = Just freaking 5 minutes before the deadline. This sucks man. Last sem, I would die die finish it the night before the deadline. What happened to me :( I need to be more conscientious and disciplined! And I seriously need to revise stats and lifepsy. Coz these two are the examinable modules, but so far I hardly understand anything! :/ Especially stats! :( Shall make use of this week to revise a bit. :) And maybe start researching for socipsy essay which is due the following week? I DON’T WANT TO SUBMIT 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE DEADLINE AGAIN. Heart attack to the freaking max please. :(

Okay so now I shall blog about my crazily awesome week!

On Monday, I presented an 8-minute informative speech! It’s one of the assignments under one of my modules (speech communication). Freaking 8 minutes please! Never given a speech this long before! Anyway, it was okay I guess. I was a bit nervous and stumbled quite a bit but I think in general quite okay lah. :)

On Tuesday, after school, I chiong-ed to Singapore Indoor Stadium to meet Beryl! We went for Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2011 together!!! It was freaking awesome and freaking shiok I tell you!!! I was so physically close to my dearest SUPER JUNIOR!!! ♥ As well as SNSD and 2NE1!!! ♥ HELL YEAH MAN SERIOUSLY. They were so awesome!!! Sunny from SNSD looked at me!!! Kyuhyun and Sungmin from Super Junior looked at me too!!! HAHAHAHA. Okay fine maybe everyone who was there think the same but whatever, I’d love to believe that they really looked at me. ♥

SNSD!!! ♥ They performed The Boys!!! The performance was so awesome! They are so freaking cute and pretty and hot! ♥ They won Artist of the Year award!

MY DEAREST SUPER JUNIOR!!! ♥ They performed Superman, Mr Simple and Sorry Sorry!!! And they cried when they received the Album of the Year award! Aww :) Their journey has been really tough. That’s why they were so touched to receive the award. :’) Love ya SUJU! Super Junior fighting!!! ♥

2NE1!!! ♥ They performed Lonely and I Am The Best!!! Their performance was soooooo good too. CL, 2NE1′s leader, is like the coolest girl you’ve ever met seriously. And she’s only one year older than me wtf!!! Gosh. She’s just damn cool lah, really got the swag sia. And it’s amazing how 2NE1 is only two years old and they are already so successful. They won Song of the Year and Best Vocals awards!

YAY, so Super Junior, SNSD and 2NE1 won the most important awards for this year’s MAMA!!! Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year! Awesome. ♥ And during the music awards, these three groups performed consecutively!!! So woahhhh, jumped and screamed until damn tired hahahaa.

And yup, I watermarked by pictures! Coz kpop idols are far too popular already. I scared people kope my pics and claim that they took it hahahaa.

Okay anyway on Wednesday, I went for 10S10 class chalet after school! ♥ Had Mr Keith’s lesson that day and he extended the proposal deadline from Thursday to Friday! So I decided to go for class chalet on Wednesday, Thursday then chiong essay! Hahhahaa. :D Class chalet was awesome too. Really nice meeting them after so long. :’) We were just doing really simple stuffs like eating bbq food, watching tv, and taking pictures, but it was so much fun. I really enjoyed it. And I also loved how we blast music and clubbed, just like how we did in the lecture theatre during breaks. :’)

And erm, on Thursday, went school from 9 – 11 -> Home to edit socipsy e-tool -> Back to school for HI Club at 6.30 -> Went home and was rushing for the stupid socipsy proposal but couldn’t finish. Only did half the proposal.

On Friday, did IJ shoes designs -> Went school for IJ lessons and S&W -> HI Club christmas performance meeting (we’re performing in town on 19th & 20th Dec! :D) -> Went home and chiong-ed the other half of the proposal. THIS IS THE PROPOSAL WHICH I HANDED IN JUST 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE DEADLINE, AT 11.54PM. :(

On Saturday, went to school for HI Club main comm interview. They are recruiting for the new main comm for next year. I don’t think I’ll get through though, coz I didn’t answer the questions very well. Aiyah whatever lah, shouldn’t think about it anymore. Let nature take its course. :)

Haha anyway, after the interview, took bus to town to meet Amanda! Bought movie tickets at Cine and went 313 for lunch. MARCHE!!! Haven’t eaten at Marche for sooooooo long!!! I had rosti with french garlic pork sausage. And crepe with mascarpone spread + strawberries + movenpick’s blackcurrant and cream! Shiok max. :) Walked around in 313 and H&M after lunch. And we’ve decided what to get for each other for christmas! Can’t wait to get mine hehe! :) Though I already know what it is but still! Haha. Eggcited! :)

And then we bought Garrett popcorn and smuggled into the cinema! We watched “那些年，我们一起追的女孩”! It’s quite an old movie already, been showing for about a month! But after hearing all the good reviews, we decided to catch it! And yup, it was really quite good! :)

Today, had dinner with my family to celebrate Dad’s, Dasao’s and Jiefu’s birthdays! Food was really good! And took polaroids with them for the first time! :’) ♥ Haha anyway, the little baby girl my sis was carrying is not her child nor my bro’s child hahaha. She’s my jiefu’s brother’s daughter aka my jiefu’s niece. :)

Yeap so that was my week. :) Busy but fulfilling. Completed assignments, met my idols, caught up with JC friends, caught up with Amanda (with comfort food + good movie), caught up with family. How awesome is that? ♥

The upcoming two-week December term break (starts from 19 Dec) is gonna be super busy though. HI Club christmas performance + HMS ambassadors bonding camp + assignments (again, told ya assignments are never-ending. :( and this time, it’s gonna be BOTH individual and group assignments, busy maxxxxxxx) + Pam’s birthday + countdown.

Oh countdown!!! Means I’ll have to make my annual 31st December post again! It’s the “epic blog post of the year” kinda thing haha, coz I’ll summarize everything that have happened in the year. :D ♥ Can’t believe that it’s gonna be the end of the year again. Time passes by so quickly. I’m gonna be 20 next year wtf! As much as I want to flash forward and see how my life would be in the future, it’s still pretty scary to know that you’re turning 20. The number seems so big. But I just know my life will be more and more fulfilling as I grow older woohoo!^^ :) Same goes to everyone out there~ :D

I changed it from today’s date (13/11/2011) to 31/10/2011. Coz I realised I didn’t blog a single shit in October, first time eversince June 2006!!! If you look under my archives, I have never missed a month before. But now I missed October 2011 so I gotta fake the date of this post so that I will still have the October 2011 under my archives! It’s just weird and annoying that October 2011 is missing! So yeah. :)

Hehe I’m a perfectionist who has OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). :D

Okay anyway, this sem started off better than last sem. Because after going through one sem, of course I already know how poly is like and what’s to be expected. So didn’t feel really lost, quite easy to adapt even after two months of holidays. ;)

Easy to adapt is one thing, time management is another! :(

For the first three weeks of this sem, I was just slacking. Everyday was just: Go school, come home, bathe, eat, tv, sleep. Now that all the assignments deadlines are coming up, it’s time to die haha lol. 6 assignments in 2 weeks. Shiok ah!!!

Plus HI Club is starting soon! So will only reach home at 9plus on Thursdays! But Thursday is still my favourite day of the week :D Coz it’s socipsy + lifepsy + hi club! :D Awesome combi. :) Last sem I liked Thursdays too coz I didn’t have school on Fridays! :)

But this sem, there’s IJ (Idea Jumpstart) and S&W (Sports & Wellness) on Fridays. Two hours each! These two are elective modules. Only 2 credit units each as compared to the core modules which have 4 credit units each. IJ is like those creative thinking kinda module. I don’t really like. :( But S&W’s been good so far! I got my first choice, Aerobics! Whoop whoop! Aerobics is damn fun and it makes me perspire a lot. The music that we use in Aerobics are all pop songs! Shiok! Moooooveeeesss like jagger~ Last friday night~ And a lot moreeeee! And omg I was so surprised during Aerobics warmup that day, I ran two rounds without stopping even after not running for like a year? Wowwww. Maybe coz I skipped quite a lot in September when I go for morning walks with mum so it kinda gave me the stamina. Haha but of course I died after the two rounds hahaa. Panting like siao.

And I’m also eating more healthily now. Main purpose is not to lose weight (of course it’d be a bonus). Main purpose is just to be healthy. I don’t really control what I eat for main course but I refrain myself from sweetened drinks/ cold drinks. I just drink plain water from my waterbottle and I’ll eat fruits after that. :) Yayyyyy. :) But I realised I’ve been eating a lot of fried food this week ughhhhh gotta control. So heaty and unhealthy. :/ And and and I also make sure I shit almost everyday. Hehe. Water and fruits ftw! :)

Okay yup that’s about all. I better go start on my assignments. :(

To summarize the whole trip in three words: I LOVE TAIWAN!

Or Taipei rather. Since I’ve only gone to Taipei. :D But I believe other parts of Taiwan would be as awesome too. :)

Taiwan is a place full of super friendly people. <3 I have never met people this friendly when I’m in my own country and in other countries. In Taiwan, you can easily strike a conversation with salespersons, shop owners, taxi drivers, or just people sharing a table with you at an eating place. :D <3 They will willingly share with you about where you can explore in Taiwan, and also share with you their experience in Singapore, etc etc :D

And while shopping, if you decide not to buy, it’s kinda rare that they’ll give black face, they will even say things like “想买再回来哦!” :) And I rmb there was this lady who had a super cute puppy and while me and my mum were sayang-ing the puppy and saying that her puppy was so cute, the lady kept smiling and saying “谢谢”! :) How many people actually say “Thank you” when you compliment their dogs? Even I don’t, I’d just smile. Haha.

Oh ya, in Taiwan, people bring their dogs everywhere! :) (Everywhere outdoors that is!) They even bring their dogs to night markets where it’s crowded and stuff! This is one point to take note for people who dislike dogs! But for dog lovers like me, it’s simply heavennnnn for you. :)

And of course, Taiwan is also full of super yummy food!!!

Hungry yet? Hehehe :P So as you can see, my personal favourite places for food are Xi Men Ding and Rao He Night Market. :D Why not the famous Shi Lin Night Market 士林夜市, you may ask. Hmm, my parents and I feel that Shi Lin Night Market is overrated. The food there isn’t as nice as those in Xi Men Ding and Rao He Night Market. My sis went to both Rao He and Shi Lin the other time as well, and she also prefers Rao He. :)

OH ONE MORE THING! If you love to watch Taiwan variety shows, you’d be even more tempted to visit Taiwan. Imagine after a long day, you get to enjoy Taiwan variety shows such as 康熙来了, 星光大道, 小燕之夜, and 大学生了没 in your hotel room! :) <3

Anyway, I’ve just visited Hong Kong last year and I prefer Taiwan a lot more to Hong Kong. Hong Kong has yummy food too, but the people weren’t friendly. (Note how I used “weren’t friendly” instead of “weren’t as friendly”) I’m not stereotyping HongKongers and no offense to HongKongers reading this but this is just how I feel from a tourist’s perspective. :/

Okay hmm, back to Taiwan!

Taiwan = Friendly people + Yummy food + Most places are accessible via public transport + Easy communication if you can speak Mandarin + Can spam Taiwan variety shows in your hotel room every night!!!

Such an awesome place, how not to love it? :’)

I’ll definitely visit Taiwan again and again in future. :D <3
